  • Now we have to keep nagging Ming to finish it and write up one. (now that I've remembered to give it to him) OR some others on this site. Hint Hint.

And in all honesty, I wouldn't have written one if I hadn't liked the book.

        • Holy crap, Elok - worth noting that the nothing-special solar flare story I linked on AC2's page has out performed today's other stories nearly 4-1 for views, what with our little frivolous conversation about flares in captivity. -And it's up against a story attacking Ron Paul in the headline, and so tagged.

YOU, sir, are more powerful than crazed Paul-heads on the internets!!!

          • More seriously - it's not news that one guy and a sidekick more than cubes the draw of just one guy posting. That's basic forum-building stuff that I've lived repeatedly. I could post modding content at AC2 and copy/paste science articles, but no community-building was really happening w/o any conversations to lurk; I needed someone to talk to...

                  • Apparently the folks at my work are spreading the word for me. I gather the conversation goes something like:

                    "So, how's the new guy?"
"Doesn't talk a lot, but when he does it's usually a wise-ass joke. He walks fast, so that's good. Oh, and he wrote a novel."

Did you mean work faster? Why would walk fast be a good thing?

                        • I switched to hospital pharmacy, which is much less stressful, but one of the many things we do is deliver meds to dispensing stations around the hospital. The hospital covers four city blocks and is five stories tall. If you're assigned to delivery--which I will be for my first several weeks, just to familiarize myself with the bewildering layout--you walk an average of eight miles a day.

I actually didn't tell them. My supervisor at the hospital picks up spare shifts at the Walgreens where I used to work, and he passed on the info. As for the conversation, that's much less of an issue for me than it is for you. I tend to answer far more questions than I ask.
