Back to the video, if someone is actively resisting, and she certainly appears to be doing that, then additional force is warranted. I watched the video and didn't see any "beating". A cop kneed her a couple times. They did taze her which seemed unnecessary. They were trying to handcuff her and she was resisting. She also threatened to bite them and punch them... what a moron.

Honestly I'd be appalled about equally with the police for using the taser like tickle-torture and my female family member for acting like that. Just watched the video (with the sound off, didn't want to wake kids with whatever crap she screamed) and holy hell, she's thrashing like a landed fish. I imagine some tasing would have been necessary just to get her to a manageable state. The zapzapzapzapzap and repeated beatings seemed excessive, but she still didn't go down. In that situation, I don't know what I'd expect the officers to do to restrain the suspect; trying to get her in the car the way she was acting at first would've resembled trying to bathe a frightened cat.
