I would say a realist who recognizes not all cultures mesh well due to extremely different cultural views and values. I actually think some sort of screening for regressive ideas among potential immigrants might have some value. Do you think gays should be killed? Do you think a man owns his wife? Do you think apostates should be killed? Do you support sharia? That sort of thing.

The problem is you would only catch the stupid ones while the smart ones would lie. So what else can you do? Probably nothing other than slow the numbers and hope time helps them intigrate instead of having the regressive **** constantly refreshed with new waves. This would be the traditional "digestion period" idea found in much of 19th and 20th century American history.

I am actually very progressive but I just recognize there are limits to what is financially possible. I would like to see a more complete welfare state but to make that viable you cannot let in millions of 3rd worlders who would love to just mooch off the system. You have to limit it to people who are from here and who have paid into the system for generations otherwise you end up with too many takers and not enough makers. The more generous the welfare state the more strict the restrictions need to be and that is just financial reality.
