    Desmond Tutu passed.

    He was an Anglican Archbishop, worked towards ending Apartheid and then for Truth and Reconciliation after the end of Apartheid. One of the great heroes alive in my lifetime.

      A very inspirational man. He called for war crimes trails for Blair and Bush Jr. for their illegal invasion of Iraq, refused to be seen publicly with either of them, and called out Obama for his illegal use of drones... Funny these things aren't mentioned in Canadian and American news reports.

        John Madden -- the NFL coaching and broadcasting legend who's also the namesake of the famed "Madden" video game franchise -- has died, the NFL announced.

        He was 85 years old.

          He lived a long, full life, but this makes me very sad. John Madden did more to define the modern NFL than any other individual I can think of. RIP, Coach.
