Why do socialists think everyone is created equal?

Poor countries are uniformly poor. Therefore, the standard of living is at a baseline for everyone. In a socialist country like the US, our standard of living is high, so the wealthy have their money taken away in order to bring the poor up to the baseline. Without the subsidies and handouts they would not be able to survive. We enable their ability to have large families. Meanwhile, those who are intelligent and have jobs reproduce less because they understand the cost of children. We have a situation in the US where the lower level of the population that is on the take is going to quickly outgrow the rest of the population that produces. The end result of socialism in any country is that it brings everyone down to one low level.Originally posted by Ellestar View PostEven if someone has resources to reproduce more, it doesn't mean that they're actually reproducing. Birth rates are the biggest in the poorest countries, and in most richest countries population can't even support it's old numbers because of a lack of reproduction.
So, your approach doesn't work in practice.

I think you missed the fact that DrinkSnacks' post was an obvious attempt to trick you into posting a shirtless picture as proof. He wants more for his collection.Originally posted by kentonio View PostFatty?
I have an extremely high metabolism, and have never been even remotedly fat. I realize that probably seems unfair considering your years of semi-starvation but its just an unfortunate fact that you seem to be one of evolutions 'inferior sub humans'.

Oh, you are a card. If the piss-poor set of public services we offer makes us socialist, is there a single country of remotely comparable wealth that isn't?

So, just to be clear, you want all the people currently on our very poor set of social services to go without anything at all, and this will improve the situation how? I assume this will entail full-on heartless bastard mode, so that e.g. instead of forcing hospitals to let uninsured homeless people use them for a PCP, then chase them with bills they will never be able to pay, you will simply put them in a little room to die if they cannot assure payment.

I mean, you're openly calling for the deaths of tens of millions here, so I'm not going to try and criticize all this on moral grounds. But it doesn't seem especially practical either. Are you expecting these millions of starving peasants to sit quietly on the pavement accepting their fate, or what? Historically, that's not how starving peasants react. Even if they all go to their local libraries where volunteers are holding daily readings of Atlas Shrugged to explain why this has to be, and they accept it, you're going to have about eight simultaneous epidemics on your hands.

Okay, I'm sorry, but you're just too boring, dude. Look at BK; he also has horrid, hateful beliefs, but he's by turns sanctimonious and self-pitying about it, and flagrantly dishonest to boot. Also he posts whole novellas at a time. That is a troll who tries. He's like the unholy spawn of a tapeworm and an insurance salesman. It's fun to hate BK. Then you've got Kid, who always spices things up with wacky non sequiturs due to his being a literal lunatic. Meanwhile, you're . . . what? A store-brand Randroid who's gleeful and flippant about his own perversity. Oooohhh, edgy. And IIRC you like really boring food or something.
Get some kind of novel twist. The actual stuff you're posting is too dumb and ugly to attack on its own merits, and I'm trying here.
