So, if I understand you right, your whole job is grossly unnecessary crap that only exists due to somebody else's incompetence. I never said the software wasn't necessary, I said the platform they went with was unnecessary, overly complicated and outdated, and poorly thought out. The software has to be written either way since these are internal systems that businesses rely on. That being said, it's not my decision to make on what platform to go with. I am simply taking advantage of the poor decisions of uneducated upper level business people who had no reason to be making the decision themselves on this. That is the norm though in corporate America. It becomes even more laughable when you have business people trying to manage technology teams. That is why I will never ever go FTE with a company ever again. The real money is running as an independent consultant, and it has the added benefit of not being managed by people less intelligent and less competent than me.
