yes, i think you're right about that. though machine translation is still pretty useless for most purposes (essentially a giant search engine) and can't cope with some very basic problems.

My job is nowhere to be found on that list (or, more properly, the 5 or so things on the list which could potentially describe my job include mostly people who do substantially different things than I do).

My guess is that this makes my job less likely to be automated than almost anything on the list.

You'd think that should be the absolute safest job from being automated ... but you know some dumbass is going to automate it just to spite some other dumbass after they get in an edit war on Wikipedia about the programming language best suited to use to automate other people's jobs away ...

Then they came for the phone book distributors, and I said nothing. Then after a few hundred years of this they came for me, but I was either dead or had uploaded my consciousness to a dystopian virtual world so I didn't give a ****.
