      • Oops. I mean TMM.

When she took that job marriage was only legal between a man and a woman. Would you blame her for refusing to murder gays protesting for their right to get married?

You are correct. She isnm't right or wrong based on "what people think," but on her adherence to her oath of office. Since she refuses to adhere to her oath, the only right thing for her to do is resign. She, however, refuses to do that, insisting that her "God-given" (so she claims) right to bigotry trumps the oath she took. There isn't a single reasonable argument to be made that she is behaving ethically. Even those who share her bigotry can't deny that she is attempting to use her political office to impose her own religious beliefs on the people of her county.
The dogmas of the quiet past, are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty…we will be remembered in spite of ourselves… The fiery trial through which we pass, will light us down, in honor or dishonor, to the last generation… We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth.

She claims that she has a right to be a bigot? I must have missed that.

I think you are misrepresenting her. She just doesn't think she should have to approve of gay marriage. She says it would harm her state if she resigned. I don't know if that's true or not. I don't have an opinion on it either.

I kind of think she should have resigned too. However, I don't equate her with Hitler for not resigning. In fact I won't agree with you that she's a bigot. You don't understand my religion.

                    • The faceless crowd of secular humanism?
To The Hijack Police: I don't know what you are talking about. I didn't do it. I wasn't there. I don't even own a computer.

Doesn't it though? Do you think public officials are not part of the crowd?

Why is secular humanism so concerned about an individuals decision not to approve of gay marriage?

Not in this case. In this case, they were the enforcement arm of the ideals set forth in the Constitution.

                              Gay marriage? Really?

At any rate, how would that make any difference. They are clearly part of the crowd because they do not make ethical decisions as individuals. They do so as the crowd. The even have the law as an excuse and to hide behind.
