So because my answer was obvious in an indirect manner, you claim victory? What an odious Ben Kenobi like person you are. As if a direct answer to a question is the victory condition? Especially since the question itself is a strawman in the first place based on your twisting of giblets' position.
What is wrong with you? Really, I'm actually serious here.
You're still dodging the question. And avoiding addressing the very clear and applicable implications of the question even when I spell it out for you.
I'm sorry, I'm out. Remove me from staff here. I've already unfriended you on Facebook.
You've really disappointed me.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)
I mean really, you take a group that says slavery could have been economically viable and survive for 80-100 years after it was actually abolished in the US and you refer to it as a "slavery wasn't that bad" group - an intentionally loaded moniker that you know is intentionally loaded.
What is wrong with you? Have you always been this odious of a person and we didn't realize or is this new?
I suppose I should have included hypocrite in your case, since you seem to want to rail against what you are doing.
Seriously? You two are going to sever ties over an alternative history argument that got out of hand?
I have a lifelong friend with whom I am careful not to discuss an alternative history wherein the Native Americans are technologically and politically prepared for European colonization, so I totally get what just happened here.
Yes, this does seem to gotten way out of hand. If I've learned nothing else over my many years on this planet, is that friends are too important to give up over the stupid things. You don't get that many of them to waste.
But for the record.
I wouldn't buy a product that was labeled 'Made exclusively by SLAVES" But I have, by choosing a product that was less expensive, probably bought a product that was made by slave like conditions. Most consumers don't do the necessary research and choose by price alone out of necessity.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple
RIP Tony Bogey & Baron O
It's not slavery though. It's not good, but it's not slavery.
Yes, it would be better if poorly paid workers around the world were treated better. I use my electronics to earn lots of money, most of which goes to give better jobs, education, and a better life to some of those who are not given a chance due to the lines they were born in. I'd rather buy electronics that are produced by better compensated workers in general, but the alternative is to not make any money and not be able to help anyone.
I wouldn't have to say the same thing about CSA cotton and tobacco. Neither are necessities, and the useful one has lots of alternatives.
