Market inefficiency. I don't even get phone interviews when I apply for positions. Considering my four hour daily commute, I make $11.66 an hour.

Are you commuting to Manhattan from Jersey?
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Living here is probably considerably cheaper than in NYC though.

Why would I move to Wilmington DE for a job that pays me $36,400?

A First Lieutenant stationed at Camp Lejeune including tax-free entitlements makes the equivalent of $75,600 ($56,732 take home) plus free medical and dental.

I wanted to be a Reservist because of the higher ceiling in the private sector but I remain grossly underemployed.

To improve the quality of your life. Philadelphia is not that great. How much is 3 hours of your life back per day, 5 days a week worth to you?

I have 40-55 min commute daily (considering both trips), and generally come to work either before 7:30 or after 9:30 to avoid an extra 20 minutes due to traffic.

i have no idea what housing costs are like in the eastern US, but surely there's somewhere nearer with affordable housing. in any case, you must be exhausted after a 4 hour commute. how long is your average working day?

9 hours. Very light but the lack of challenge is problematic. BNY Mellon is too sleepy of a bank.

Normally I think mass transit is the way to go, but why don't you get a car?

Right now at 5pm EST, Wilmington to Philly (your trip home) is 58 minutes, accounting for traffic, according to Google Maps.

How bad is Chester? Wouldn't that give you back 2 hours a day, 5 days a week?

Actually wait... wtf... is the train really bad to your house from the 30th St Station in Philly or to the Wilmington Amtrak station? Because Google is saying Wilmington Amtrak to Philly's 30th St. Station is 21 minutes. Though it goes to 58 minutes after 6.

lol. Even I'm scared of Chester. It's possibly worse than Camden. Median household income is $23K. It's the ghetto of ghettoes.
