No, the big question is: when (not if) we resturcture the debts, will we have to do the same again in 10 years time ?

      I certainly see your point.

It seems to me, perhaps I am in error, that Greece is looking at some long term agony. A cycle of renegotiating and restructuring debts.

I was asking whether it may be feasible for Greece to simply go bankrupt. Just tell creditors to get stuffed, leave the Eurozone, implement the drachma, and accept the terrible consequences of default. I do not know the answer to that question.

          • There is another option:

            Greece: South Balkans National Park!

            For Guests and Staff Only.

This options looks a lot more likely than anything else right now, after the country is depopulated this is all that will remain, pretty beaches and 2004 Olympics ruins to look over. (all owned by Europeans off course, and charging for hotels and parking)

Germany is taking in 800k refugees from the mess that Sarkomeron made, they could take in another 5 million Greeks for the mess they are responsible for.

I think this option would eventually work, but it would cause civil unrest first.

                • You need a political eventuality for that to work.
So all sides must want it.
                  Currently none does.

You bypass the civil unrest if that's what the people actually voted for.
                  Clean accounts make clean friends

So a political party that clearly advocates a return to drachma and a default must be formed (it is formed). The percentage it gets is a gauge of how close we are to this or not. His leader was met all the soviet leaders btw. He's old.
