God is the creator. Why is that good? Because I believe that it is.

Now let's say that God did tell me to kill my family (and I knew it were God). That would cause me a great deal of anxiety because I also believe killing your family is evil. But this is all hypothetical, because in the case of Abraham, there is clearly a good reason, and the fact is he didn't have to kill his family.

I watched a lot of Lost recently (first 5 seasons down ... just one more to go). Echo became a Priest by killing a Priest so his brother wouldn't have to, then bribing/threatening his brother, then getting his brother killed while smuggling heroin. While this is a pretty low bar to clear, I don't think I'd want to do any of that.

Killing a priest to become a priest? Not sure I remember that in the Catechism, but does fit in with the rest of the religion.

Yes, Satan is the same as the demons. He doesn't really choose.

In fact it's like playing an RPG. You can take it as seriously as you like. For example, you can agree with the no birth control thing and pop out 12 kids, or you can be Nancy Pelosi and think killing babies is actually OK. It's totally up to you!
