So if god told you to kill your family then you would, but if satan told you to kill your family then you would not. Why? What if they both told you to kill your family - what would you do?Originally posted by Kidicious View PostNo. I don't worship Satan because he's evil, not because he isn't powerful. I'm just saying he's evil, and a loser.
In other words, how do you determine the difference between good and evil - what makes god good and satan evil? You'd previously said that god was good because he's powerful, now you're implying something different.<p style="font-size:1024px">HTML is disabled in signatures

God is the creator. Why is that good? Because I believe that it is.Originally posted by loinburger View PostSo if god told you to kill your family then you would, but if satan told you to kill your family then you would not. Why? What if they both told you to kill your family - what would you do?

Now let's say that God did tell me to kill my family (and I knew it were God). That would cause me a great deal of anxiety because I also believe killing your family is evil. But this is all hypothetical, because in the case of Abraham, there is clearly a good reason, and the fact is he didn't have to kill his family.I drank beer. I like beer. I still like beer. ... If they're evil then they should be judged evil (demons). Angels are good though, so I don't understand the problem.Originally posted by gribbler View PostHow is it fair to judge someone for doing something they couldn't have chosen not to do?I drank beer. Killing a priest to become a priest? Not sure I remember that in the Catechism, but does fit in with the rest of the religion.Originally posted by Aeson View PostI watched a lot of Lost recently (first 5 seasons down ... just one more to go). Echo became a Priest by killing a Priest so his brother wouldn't have to, then bribing/threatening his brother, then getting his brother killed while smuggling heroin. While this is a pretty low bar to clear, I don't think I'd want to do any of that.

But ... Satan uisually is seen as an angel who rebelled against god.Originally posted by Kidicious View PostThey don't choose.
So it seems like angels have a choice.
Either this, or God is Satan, as Satan was fully under control of god as he rebelled against god (i.e. god made him rebel against himself) and probably still is under gods control.
Which also means that god fully is responsible for all the good and all the evil in the worldTamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death. I arrive on winds of blessed air. Air that you no longer deserve."

Yes, Satan is the same as the demons. He doesn't really choose.Originally posted by Proteus_MST View PostBut ... Satan uisually is seen as an angel who rebelled against god.

OMG PELOSIOriginally posted by Hauldren Collider View PostIt isn't hard. You just do what my mom does and go to church on Christmas and Easter. Catholicism is pretty chill
In fact it's like playing an RPG. You can take it as seriously as you like. For example, you can agree with the no birth control thing and pop out 12 kids, or you can be Nancy Pelosi and think killing babies is actually OK. It's totally up to you!
Great name dropTo us, it is the BEAST.
