Would you let Ben hear your confession?
11Of course I would - not being able to tell would drive him nuts18.18%2Are you insane? Seek forgiveness and take advice from Ben?45.45%5Only if he apologised to me first or leaves Poly, whichever comes first, and I get him by mistake0.00%0I'll bet he eats bananas in the confessional36.36%4Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..
Look, I just don't anymore, okay?Tags: None

If life mirrors Poly, there would simply be a banner over the confessional booth reading "This priest is on your ignore list".The genesis of the "evil Finn" concept- Evil, evil Finland

I'm not Catholic, so no. But, fun as it is to snark about BK, there's no reason to believe he'd be a particularly bad priest. He knows Catholic doctrine backward and forward, and is intensely loyal to it. He obviously enjoys thinking about theology. He's not too uptight to deal with seculars, and jokes aside we've no evidence that he's a predator. His dishonest debating tactics are unlikely to be relevant, as he only uses them when he's arguing politics, etc.; his own beliefs mirror the RCC's almost exactly, so he would have no reason to lie and cheat. I have no idea how good he'd be at sermons or confessions, but better this than telling endless waves of students how Elizabeth I was the forerunner to Hitler. Good on him.

Also, if a Catholic priest's workload is anything like his Orthodox counterpart's, he won't have much time left for interminable debates on Poly, so there's that.

BK really sucks at debating, but priests don't debate inside of the confessional - they lecture and judge, which BK excels at, so if I were going to have my confession heard by a priest for some reason then there'd really be no disadvantage to having BK be that priest.<p style="font-size:1024px">HTML is disabled in signatures </p>

I've wondered before--who hears the confessions of the confession-hearers?Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.
