If AI will be human-like, just smarter, what could be wrong with that? But I don't think futurists really understand how we think. Just because they could learn doesn't mean they will dominate us.

So basically your benchmark for 'things that can class as intelligent' is exactly what humans just happen to be doing? This is why people like you (and to be fair a huge number of other scientists) piss me off, you can see a creature who is carrying out a range of complex tasks and clearly capable of not only communication but social and interpersonal relationships, and write them off as 'not intelligence' for reasons that are frankly bizarre.
He was saying that Chimps were like Homo Sapien Sapien 100k years ago starting with simple tools.
My point is that the statement is retarded, you can take a child of a Homo Sapien Sapien from 100k years ago and have them be a world renown artist or an inventor or what have you.
You don't get that with Chimps. They won't advance beyond 'simple tools' because they don't have the intelligence. If they had the intelligence they could learn from us, like young humans can.

My initial point is that the claim that Chimps or what have you (Dogs? really??) are like human children/toddlers/etc is stupid.
Human children/toddlers/etc are vastly more intelligent than any animal.

If we have the option to, say, conduct medical research on chimps, for example, it seems a no-brainer. Test on chimps, test on humans, or don't do the research and possibly have more humans die? Well, tough luck for Mr. Termite-fisher.
