I believe somewhat different than you. But since there's no proof either way, while I believe differently I don't totally discount what you believe. There may be a god.
You believe somewhat different than me. But you're not willing to believe that there may not be god.

Which one of us appears more open minded here?
As far as what view is more valuable due to being more open minded, the answer is 'neither of you'.

This takes a bit of work, but basically there is no view which is 'better' due to being open minded. Open minded is not a consistent way to compare two quantities.

This is why I linked to the atheists above, as they are interested in what can be valued (not open mindedness per se, but rather positive qualities like patience, kindness, love, and so on). This way two quantities can be measured and one can be considered as better than the other. Whether it is theistic or non-theistic.

What makes you think that your beliefs are true?
I just asked the same question back. Pretty straightforward to me. What part didn't you understand.

There is no proof either way. Do you claim to have proof.
I don't wee anyone here that doesn't believe in god saying that they can prove it. They just say that those that do can't prove it either.

BS, the view that either is possible is more open minded than holding one exclusive.

You made a condescending remark. I responded appropriately and now you're being passive-aggressive. Why?

          • You called what someone said 'wild speculation'
but when someone insinuates your own believe might be 'wild speculation' it's now passive-aggressive.

Sounds like a double standard to me.

              a) Thinking something different to you and expressing that opinion does not make someone 'spiteful'. Get over yourself really.
              b) 'resentful of the greatness of individuals'?!? What the actual ****?

Ok. You didn't tell me what your motivation is for thinking that individuals don't exist, which is an indication that my assumption is correct. Yes, people are often spiteful of the greatness of others. Do you actually question that?

I explained to you that I was questioning his motivation. Why would you question the motivation for believing something that isn't speculation?

Sounds about right. The term open-minded is often used to get people not to think for themselves.
