Yes. Since the discovery of the accelerating expansion of the universe in 1998, it does not appear that the universe will ever collapse back in on itself. I think we basically just don't know. I remember reading about radiation traces that seem to predate the big bang though, which would seem to point more towards a cyclic nature.
