Also, he could just as easily be saying that Egypt was prepared to defend itself from Israeli aggression.

Also, the reason for the Egyptian deployment was the Soviet misinformation campaign which claimed that it was Israel that was intending to attack Egypt, so no wonder the build up in Sinai, especially after Suez...

The balance of forces appeared extreme before the conflict. The scope of the Israeli victory is historic, on par with Marathon, San Jacinto and Midway. It is almost impossible to game the actual outcome. Before the battle, an analyst would have said that Egypt and Syria had Israel bent over a table. Given the history of the war to that point, destruction of the state was immanent. I would not choose the word victim, but it is not out of place. Alternatively, consider 1972, where the Arab states did launch an attack.
To reach your position, one must begin with the assumption that destroying Israel is a good thing. This is the standard meme in the United Nations, among other places, so you have company.

So... this just got a bit interesting..
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu raced Wednesday against a midnight deadline to form a ruling coalition that would allow him to continue as the country’s leader.
With only hours to go, Mr. Netanyahu was trying to secure a commitment from Jewish Home, a pro-settler party that has made demands for more ministerial posts. Those demands came after the nationalist Yisrael Beiteinu party on Monday said it would not join Mr. Netanyahu’s government.
Even if Mr. Netanyahu succeeds in cobbling together a majority, it is expected to compose just 61-seats, leaving Mr. Netanyahu with almost no margin for error in the 120-seat Knesset.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)
