I think it's definitely a thing, but like you say it's about not making your feelings clear. I used to regularly have girls who I shared an attraction with but ended up 'just friends' because I didn't have the confidence to just tell them I wanted to be with them. It's purely a confidence thing.

i freely admit to being a bit of a popular culture snob, but i can at least see the appeal of most of it. that film though was just awful from start to finish. the story is uninteresting, the world does nothing to capture the imagination (and i love a good dystopian future), the acting never rises above poor, the dialogue is painful, and the interaction between the male and female leads positively excruciating; it's just a bunch of kids with improbable haircuts having a scrap.

Do gay men ever complain about being in the "friend zone" with other men?

why are they referred to as beta males? shouldn't they be omega males?

Are you saying that men's rights advocates are incapable of defending their ****ty arguments?

One thing jumps out at me:

“I see myself as a traditional man really,” he says. “I am focused on what I want. I lay down the rules but they are thoughtful ones.
^^ This is part of the whole entitlement thing.

I'm tempted to be sympathetic towards such men, considering the increased rates of suicide. But only tempted... because my actual response to them is "fuck you"

When people say MRA, I can't help but think of some horrible new infection that has the potential to kill millions.

yeah. i actually thought the article was good, but the comments were awful. it always more or less the same story: a guy got married and after 10, 15, 20 years it wasn't working any more, the divorce was messy and he now has decided that this, and his various other problems, are the result of a dark conspiracy involving liberals, feminism and the devaluing of 'masculinity', and thus he now hates half of humanity.
