I don't know if this is aimed at me or not, but I definitely don't root for Cersei at all. She's very clearly a villain in my eyes. I just don't think her villainous actions erase the wrongs done to her. I can feel sorry for some of what has happened to her without feeling that she's justified in doing what she does.

Exactly. She's a repulsive person, but some of the things that were done to her in the past, as well as a certain scene in the books, engenders some compassion.

Very, very few characters in the books are saints--there's approximately three point-of-view characters who are morally near-spotless.
Even some characters who have done incredibly horrific things can be, and occasionally are, people to root for.

All the sad **** that happened to her pales in comparison to the sad **** that happened to virtually everyone else in that fantasy world, yet she's the one who ****s everything up. No, I don't feel super sorry for her.

Guy, I'm a little disappointed you didn't take any issues with my comparison of the Detroit Lions to the peasants in game of thrones

Stannis is boring. Robert is the only good Baratheon.

Inigo Montoya, although he was only in it for mere minutes before coming down with Squishy Head Syndrome.

And Varys, for being the most interesting character in the whole series.

Varys is a fascinating character, true.
