It's amazing how all those former Soviet countries keep wanting closer ties with the west and are afraid of Russia. You'd think it'd be the other way around given how evil and fascist we all are, and how amazing and super good and awesome Russia is.

That's funny because I spend a lot of time in Hungary, and dated a Romanian not long back. I've heard absolutely no-one from that part of the world expressing a single second of 'missing the old times'. They were basically slave people to an oppressive regime, why would you think they want to go back to that?

I never dated anyone from there but they definitely feel that the free market economy is far worse.
