This is the contemporary face of liberal journalism: whinging pantywaists, foot-shooting atheists, black people who don't realize they've been in the Democratic Party's ***** seat for decades, feminists slightly less unhinged than Kid's fantasies about them. And, finally, a baffling interest in pubes. Just don't tell me, in the future, that the American Left marginalizes its lunatics. They're front and center on Salon, and Slate, and HuffPo, and any number of other crank pulpits.

XPost; also, I should add that these lunatics are significantly less terrifying than the right wing's lunatics. I just can't picture any of them, with the possible exception of the atheists, being competent to run a proper dissident-purging police state. They'd be halfway through the first purge before they decided to lecture the goon squad on using gender-inclusive pronouns in their internal memos. After two hours the goons would get PO'd and kill their leaders.

            Own goal.

They are marginalized if they are only on these "crank pulpits".

Of course, this is why I enjoy calling myself "independent" instead. This way I have more of a right to dabble in all the platforms and take what I like and not get shuffled off with either sides crackpots.

If Salon, Slate and HuffPo don't speak for or to the American Left, who does? Don't tell me TV news, nobody under forty still watches that crap.

Well maintained pubic hair is by far the most important issue facing many of us today. Please don't try and marginalize us.

Wait until they find out about Link's clean-shaven groin in Skyward Sword, then. It'll be front-page news for weeks.

                      Salon is a self-described "tabloid".

If by tabloid what you mean is you're trying to reach a popular audience, trying to write topics that are viscerally important to a readership, whether it's the story about the mother in Houston who drowned her five children or the story on the missing intern in Washington, Chandra Levy.

Slate is owned by MSN. HuffPo by AOL.

Seems like you're fretting over the opinions expressed by tabloid writers and two giant media companies.

BTW, by getting trolled by that article and making this little thread, you've helped give them some ad revenue and page hits. They thank you for playing your part in this little game.

this is a natural result of the 'mainstream left' surrendering the economic battle and essentially accepting capitalism, leaving their discourse on these matters as something like: "we'll let landlords and bosses **** you over, but we'll feel really bad about it". what's left is this kind of lifestyle bull**** and identity politics that appeals to a certain kind of middle class metropolitan liberal, but leaves everyone else cold.

Is the Legend of Zelda actively being discussed at meetings of The American Lefttm?
