    Indeed. But we're specifically talking about abductions committed by strangers on the street. And even in cases where a parent is doing the abducting, the other parent will still report it.

      These are the school cases we had, so common a museum has one. At the bus stop the kids would line them up to keep their place.



      Mine was so big when I was 5 I could hop inside it. In fact a common trick with an annoying kinder kid was to stuff them inside their own school bag and lock it up.

      As I say, it's not "we all survived", but it's a wonder we survived. But most of us did, with a very rich childhood and many life skills kids just don't have today.
