I've just been through the selecting a new phone rigmarole, and I settled on a Xiaomi Mi2 from AliExpress. Apparently they're the biggest selling smart phones in China. They're up to Mi4 if you want LTE, Mi3 is the Mi4 without LTE, Mi2 is last year's model and a bit smaller, which I prefer.

They're all very high spec for the price. Warranty might be a problem though, as they're not retailed outside of China. Yet.

I'm expecting the phone to arrive any day, I'll let you know what it's like if you're interested.

So yeah, the Xiaomi Mi2S is all it claims to be, high performance in a solid package for a cheap price. I got the larger battery with modified back cover and I get about 4 days out of it between charges with light to moderate use. Strong developer community, if you're into that sort of thing.

            I recommend them.

              Get a Moto X or a Nexus 6.

FWIW, Sava got a Droid Turbo, which is a Moto X with a much bigger battery, but far uglier with capacative buttons on the bottom.
