Women judge men by the size of their phones. That's why the iPhone is now bigger. Get a phablet.

I prefer bluetooth headphones. No cords see.

I'm listening to music perhaps five hours some days. What's the word on batteries? I'm not a big fan of wireless in general because of that. My roku has a port for a headphone jack. Its tremendously convenient. However, I go through 2 AA batteries after about 8 hours of usage.

If you don't want a big phone, get Sony Z3 Compact or Samsung Galaxy Alpha.

If you can handle something bigger, Moto X (2014) or Sony Z3.

I appreciate all the suggestions. I'm going to choose three or four models that were mentioned and do a side by side comparison of features.

            Thank you all
... and in advance for any future help

Motorola Droid Turbo seems best for you. Battery life looks to be insane on that thing.

              (I have a MotoX and battery isn't a strength)

Disregard all other posters. If you want to buy an expensive status symbol you don't really need, ask a Russian, accept no alternatives.

other nationalities might qualify as well.
Has to be noted though that batery is exhausted primarily by things like wifi activation and running a browser.
Just playing mp3s is not that taxing to the battery I think.

You can still find Samsung Galaxy S4s. They are a bit smaller than the S5s and a lot cheaper.

My S5 is through Verizon but my usage differs from yours. I mostly like it.

Mine was a rechargable, lasts 10-15 hours or so.

I usually only chage it at night, and have wifi on during most of the day, and haven't had lack-of-battery issues. Listening to music (without using the screen all the time) doesn't seem very taxing on the battery, I haven't noticed above-average power drain on days I listen to music.

[edit:] this is a Moto X

I was too lazy to do research yesterday.

I noticed the problem with my phone's headphone port may be related to it's size/length (or lack there of).

The headphone jack sticks out far enough for it to be moved around easily. I was playing with it last night. This is definitely the problem.
