Being muslim or an immigrant in general in denmark (or elsewhere) is not easy.
You are looked down upon and racism is intricate in the social fabric (yeah yeah that's not the case... it really is).
So these people are working for the danish overlord, probably being exploited the hell out of him (no benefits, tiny wages compared to the "Regular citizens" etc
and what do they got? their faith, a common unifying aspect.
meanwhile they are seeing their religious "brothers" getting killed by the thousands from bombs abroad all over the world.
and now some facnypantsy comes and draws a sketch of mohhamed (that, rightly or wrongly is forbidden, that's theological, not an issue) and it's like you have the danish fancypansty overlord purring salt over an open wound.
I perfectly see their point of view. I don't condone it, I don't accept it but I think I understand it.
It's similar (to a much lesser extend given the different sizes of things) like when albania managed to beat the greek team. thousands of albanians flooded athens celebrating. the underdog had won the overlord. religion had little to do in that case but I think the underlining feeling was the same.

I'd also add that this in no way absolves the dire responsibility of radicalist imams who take advantage of that situation and fanatize impressionable and mostly young minds to increase their own standing in the 'hood, so to speak. As a rule of thumb (the one and only thing I agree with the government) is when saudi arabia offers to fully finance your new muslim temples you say "no". Same with other suspicious entities.

A moral analysis of Islam (or any religion) is counter-productive to the goal of defeating radical elements. If anything, it's going to swell their ranks by being exactly the Great Satan that radicals say we are.
So feel free to get up on your high horse, feeling superior to all those dirty mooslims. Anyone who does so is actively helping the terrorists win, frankly. To us, it is the BEAST.
