Expanded and built a dam to provide power for my growing city. I've been rebuilding the roads to accommodate my high density grids.

I'm at 20k pop and $11k per week. Cash reserves at $125k. I was up around $300k, but spent a ton to get the dam and infrastructure up and running. I had to move my sewage output to past the dam because I was creating a massive lake of poop.

Zone distribution in the heart of the city. I'll soon connect rail and get some tourists to come in.

High density RES, offices, high density COM... mostly. I still have a small industrial area to the left/(west?)

The area across the river is just low density still. I want to build more up/(north?) and reach the rail lines. I'll probably extend one into the downtown area kind of to the right/(east?) where I have some wind turbines still. I'll move those. Also, I have incinerators there... I'll move them too.

I love the building relocation feature. It saves the trouble of having to demo and rebuild.

Traffic isn't terrible. I'm still experimenting with on and off ramps. They seem to cause the most issues in conjunction with the major intersections that run under the expressways. I need to add more buses. I'll start playing around with the metro system too.

I'm not making use of many ordinances or policies. There's so much to do in this game. I've been spending most of my time optimizing that core/downtown area. You could spend hours just tweaking a city. I want to expand more and see how bad traffic gets. I like expanding and then dealing with the problems as they present.

How does the dam affect boat traffic (if you've gotten that far)?

Good question. I'm on a river map. I don't yet see an option for boats or anything. I will look when I get home.

I think the port becomes available at a certain city size. Don't remember what.

Here is my second city, 20k inhabitants, residential and shops to the east, factories to the west. At the moment some troubles with fires and dead people. Not zombies.

I haven't changed any settings, so it's as is default.

                      • The dam did cause some flooding upriver. Looks like at least one person will have to file a claim with their insurance. Pedestrians seems to give zero fucks about the water.

I also moved my water pumps from closeby... that has an effect on water level too, IIRC

I hate when that happens. The forum does that sometimes when I copy paste text. Mighty irritating. Aeson should fix.

Me trying to learn how to do roads overpasses manually. I gave up. It was worse.

                              • I'll post photos when I get home, in about two hours. My city is still pretty small though.
