one more thing Ben, people have been paying into SS and Medicare (just like you)... Is that a promise America should keep? How do you defund Medicare after people paid into the system for decades and now they're old and unable to work?

You cant avoid taxes with the Church's wealth, it aint some guy living out in the wilderness. We pay higher property taxes so your Church doesn't. And thats just one example, the subsidies are enormous.

In America? Americans, have, by and large, been anticlerical for a long, long time. Catholics are a minority here, despite, in the case of Texas, being the first ones here.
You joined a vast criminal organization that bathes in the blood and treasure of millions and they've been doing it for centuries.

Still doesn't change the fact that I have medicare deductions on my paystub.
And that doesn't change the fact you accused me of taking your money via Medicare. And you used that false accusation to "justify" your so-called right to make all of my decisions for me. From what medicines I can use (if any) to what foods I eat, how much exercise I get, everything... But you'd scream "SOCIALIST!" and "FREEDOM!" if anyone said they get to make all your decisions.

Representation is my right to have a say in my own taxation, to what extent I shall be taxed, and the extent of coverage. So yes, representation means I get a say.
Thats not what you said, you claimed a right to make everyone's decisions. And I support earmarking taxes so we dont have to pay for whatever the politicians want. Your Republicans dont support that, they want the power.

I don't see anywhere that medicare is included within the powers of congress within the constitution.
Me neither, so explain how you can use an unconstitutional power to create for yourself total control over everyone? Here's your argument, Congress is violating the Constitution so I get to be dictator. Where in the Constitution does it say Ben becomes our king the moment you gotta pay a tax for Medicare? Tell that to your class, I can already imagine the looks on their parents faces when the kiddies report on what they learned in school today. Well, you love the drug war and that is not in the Constitution either. They had to amend the Constitution for a war on booze, they aint never done that for pot or anything else.

I believe in constitutional governance for America, that America should keep the promises she has made.
The Indians want their land back... Where in the Constitution does it say you get to make our medical decisions? So far your answer is you get that power because you're paying a Medicare tax. Your logic: Congress is violating the Constitution so Congress must violate it even worse for you.

Welcome to the democrat party, Berz!
Not that he's a Democrat, but I'm honored to join Ming

You support socialist health care and I do not.
Not really... Medicare uses the same private system employed by us and insurance, the VA is state owned. The early Congress required a tax to cover the health care of mariners, the Framers weren't socialists. If we're gonna cover the health care of the people we send to war I'd rather we do it in the same system we're using, but the Democrats and Republicans created the VA. They like wars

But you do support socialism, you said the Medicare tax you're paying gives you the right to make our decisions.

Whether medicare is funded is something that I have a say in as my taxes are used to fund it.
Have your say... Just stop changing the subject.

I wasn't aware Medicare made the government own the medical industry.

Because... that's the only way it could be socialism.

Your Church doesn't have to pay taxes like the rest of us
that means the rest of us are subsidizing your Church.
This does not follow. One can avoid paying taxes altogether and yet not receive government subsidies.

And your Church has stolen vast amounts of wealth over the centuries
In America? Americans, have, by and large, been anticlerical for a long, long time. Catholics are a minority here, despite, in the case of Texas, being the first ones here.

in addition to torture and murder. You joined one of the world's biggest criminal organizations and got a job for your effort.
Jack Chick called. He said your membership has been upgraded to "Grand Wizard".

I'm not on Medicare and even if I was my eye drops are cheap and I'd pay for them myself like I do now.

The relationship between alcohol intoxication and blood alcohol levels is not the sme as the relationship between marijuana intoxication and blood THC or urine THC levels. Once absorbed from the gut alcohol distributes pretty much evenly amongst the body's tissues and it's removed from the body pretty much at a constant rate, so the blood alcohol level is an accurate measure of the amount of alcohol in your brain and can even be used to calculate the level of intoxication at a specific point in the near past. Marijuana is different, it is poorly soluble in aqueous solutions, but well soluble in lipids, so once absorbed it rapidly redistributes out of blood to lipid rich areas like the brain. It can accumulate also, You could be high as a kite and have very low blood levels. Urine levels are useful because marijuana and it's meatbolites are excreted. If you're an infrequent smoker you're not going to have thc metabolites in your urine for 2 weeks, you might for 3 to 4 days. It's the habitual smoker who continues to show thc in their urine for 2 weeks.

Uh, I'm not exactly sure what happens if you inject pot. I'm assuming they mean the plant and not the purified drug marinol, which isn't prepared in a form suitable for injecting either. How would you inject pot? Would you make a tea out of it by boiling it in water? Perhaps you could put it in something like a hookah, burn it, draw the smoke off and trap the smoke in a solute? Perhaps you could grind it into super-fine particles then suspend the particles in a solution?

Was this the thread where electric cars were mentioned?

Oh well, it's about driving. Close enough.

You're defending the drug war by citing how terrible it is for the country on the front lines of your war? The policy is drug prohibition and you support it... When was the last time beer dealers were having shootouts over market share? When booze was illegal. Were the Framers guilty of lawlessness too? They never waged a drug war, all drugs were legal in this country.

Then why do you support everything the democrats support? You support publicly funded medical care. How do you square that with a libertarian ethos?
Thats not even close to true, the Democrats support the drug war and so do you, not me. People pay into Medicare (your paystub?) so at most its subsidized, but it aint among my biggest gripes. I dont get upset when taxes are used to provide the poor with a safety net. I vote Libertarian and they'd leave that up to the states. You support the GOP and they are redistributing your wealth. Mine too, but here you complaining about what your party is doing and blaming me.

    GODDAMN!

We. Don't. Receive. A. ****ING. DIME. We are financed entirely by the parents who pay for their children to receive a Catholic education.

I'll say it and keep saying it until it gets through your ****ing skull.
Your Church doesn't have to pay taxes like the rest of us, that means the rest of us are subsidizing your Church. No, but it has medicare deductions.

Again, I'm paying for your ****ing medical care, and nothing I need is covered. Pay for your **** yourself. TYVM.

Yeah, I am. I have medicare deductions on my paystub. Benefits for which I am ineligible to receive. You wanna know how much I pay? More than what I spent on ****ing Groceries this month.

    Pay for your own ****.
I'm not on Medicare and even if I was my eye drops are cheap and I'd pay for them myself like I do now.

I believe the founders called it "no taxation without representation."
You teach history? Representation is not a "right" to decide what medicines or foods everyone can use, the Constitution limits the power of Congress. You dont believe in any limits when you're the one making our decisions but you complain when other people use government to make your decisions.

Great. So why are you antagonizing someone who's trying to get rid of socialized medicine. You should be saying, "hell ya, it's wrong that you're paying for this ****". But you don't.
Actually the only socialized medicine we have is the VA, Medicare isn't socialism. I'm antagonizing you because your ideology is worse, you have a dictator's mentality. You said everyone must do what you tell us because you're paying a tax to cover someone's health care. I was paying those taxes before you were born and it never crossed my mind that meant I had the right to make everyone's decisions.

Yet, you're willing to tax my ass off? It doesn't work that way. Tax my ass off and I get a say as to how **** is run.
I vote Libertarian, you support the GOP... Guess which one is taxing yer ass off? And having a say in how things are run is not having the right to make everyone's decisions. If "socialists" really are intent on totalitarianism, you are their useful idiot. They make you pay a tax and you demand government control of everything.

I was trying to figure out how that would even work. THC doesn't dissolve in water. Any kind of liquid concentrate is going to be alcohol based. Barring some sort of high-tech pharmaceutical wizardry, that is.
