Not particularly. No Senate race is going to be harder for the GOP primary winner because Eric Cantor lost . At least not this year.

That rather depends on whether Mr Brat decides to use his new platform to espouse far right ideas, doesn't it. "GOP candidate tells immigrants 'Get Out!'" is still a hit to the GOP brand.

That's a different argument... in which the counter is "nuance exists" to your "no it doesn't!".

Let's just say we had it already and nothing changed after we finished.
To us, it is the BEAST.

          Sava, finally understanding Apolyton.

This post is what happens when people in foreign countries try to predict US politics.

Brat is going to be completely ignored by the media until he wins his House race in November... unless he makes a "legitimate rape" like comment.

Also, main problem being that Democrats are completely naive when it comes to politics sometimes. All these Tea Partiers in Congress are going to be great for us... oh really? Yes, it cost a few Senate races, but how much legislation passed these past 4 years? What is Obama's approval rating? It's a classic case of be careful what you wish for.

If you think the man who just toppled Cantor is going to be ignored by the media you're smoking crack. The liberal part of the press will be watching him like a hawk waiting for the inevitable gaffe.

An example. In 1994, Tom Foley, the Democratic Speaker of the House lost his election (the first Speaker to lose an election since 1862) during the Contract with America sweep. The Republican that defeated him (George Nethercutt) wasn't really a topic of news, at least not out of Washington State, since then.

Yes a single example from 20 years ago that doesn't take any account of the current political situation is definitely proof positive that history will repeat itself.

I always enjoy getting told by people that us dumb foreigners couldn't possible predict American politics however. Like calling 49 out of 50 states correctly in the last election.

That single example is the closest analog, of course.

If we completely ignore the attention paid to the tea party candidates who overthrew other established Republicans in far more recent primaries of course.

Did the Republicans ever get sued for breach of contract?
