Definitely a step in the right direction. I wonder about the value of the 'Other Games' forums being so prominent though, do that many people post about the games in there any more? I'd also definitely consider branching out into Paradox stuff, given that the markets overlap so much.

Maybe something more radical might be in order?

From the main forum menu you could show all sub forums as collapsed so you have a nice clean and easy to navigate structure. In each section, whenever a new game comes out, the previous game in the series is then dropped into the lower subforum (so when BE comes out, 4 would drop into the Series subfolder etc), with the top forum always focusing on the new game. Most new visitors will presumably find the place as a result of the most recent game in the series.

That gives you 5 clean Civ forums from the front forum page, along with the 4 extra ones. Still pretty heavy, but manageable.
