Well, the new thing is planning for the future. This is not just everyone's ideal environment, after all, and the merit of the notion has little to do with the merit of who suggested it.

I seriously doubt, too, that discussion of moderation in public is going to do any harm - absent the occasional people issue, there's a lot to be said for maximum transparency in management.

Perhaps, but leadership falls to management. Setting an example, that sort of thing. As Ming posted, there isn't anyone who doesn't have a beef with someone else in the OT, and look out new people! Its open season on them. That really helps the site.

I don't care about being the troll's guy to hate, its a badge of honor, all things considered. I'm no friend to trolls, and they know that and hate me for it. Find a better reason to be hated for something around here and I'll jump right in with both feet. I'm not part of the clique, the clique sucks.

It'd help if the site navigation wasn't so damn confusing. Seriously try going to the root of the site and then to the forum root and imagining seeing it as a newcomer. Confusing as balls. If there's a genuine need to have dozens of subforums, then they should probably be organized in such a way that the default is having them collapsed, or sub-menus. I'd question the need for forums to remain active however when they haven't had a post since 2013.
