If they have to spend more on security and charge less for the oil, how does it benefit governement officials, or foreign corps, for the matter?

Also, the oil is in the south, the unrest is in the north.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

This is part of the reason I can't bring myself to care about things like this. The Nigerian government itself doesn't care about it.

I'm not in the mood for another round of nation building in Africa and I see no real reason for the US to intervene. So yeah, my gives a **** is broken.

In all honesty, I'd rather have our soldiers die for something more directly to our benefit. If there's no risk, that's fine.

We are already at war against terrorists. These are radical islamists with connections to AQ. Why did everyone just find out about this on facebook? Only then is it in the media.

We can't even be bothered to bring the people who murdered Americans in Libya to justice. What makes you think anything of substance is going to be done by the US here?

Who are going to be the two republican canditates for the US presidency after Obama?
Or is it too soon to say?

I mean who are the two republican candidates that will battle it between themselves so that one of them can be nominated to fight for the US presidency
(like obama and clinton did before for the democrats)

                    • That's a question people are worrying about - it doesn't really look like the Republicans have anyone worthy, let alone all that viable. They haven't for several elections cycles, and neither have the Democrats. I really don't want Mrs. Clinton to be president, but right now it looks like her by default.

Keep in mind that any opinions, including mine, are pretty completely worthless this far in advance...

                      • I just gotta say...selling 200 girls into slavery sounds like comic book villain ****, like, did I mention I'm evil today? But it's actual people actually doing it.

It's interesting that you would bring that up. You don't care about these 200 girls because their government doesn't care about them. Well, our government clearly doesn't care about those murdered Americans, so why do you?

                          • thanks buster's uncle.
i was just wandering about that because despite obama and the US having a rather good image to the outside world (europe at least) it seems in this forum that quite a few americans think he isn't "Strong" enough in the international stage.
so i was just wandering who the republican president could be, if americans voted for one
                            (sorry for the threadjack)

Our media told us it was just protesters. Nothing is going to happen because "that's racist."

I guess we are all just going to wait for them to kill thousands of americans.
