I understand your love affair with the UN. The UK is so ineffectual, the pointless pontification acts as catharsis for you guys.

Bittch, moan, and complain. Pass a non-binding resolution with zero enforcement mechanism... ahhh that feels better.

Pretending to solve problems can sometimes be just as bad as the problems themselves.
To us, it is the BEAST.

Sure, the UN is SOOOO ineffectual with pointless wastes of time like the World Food Program which provides food to 100m people each year. How about that branch of the UN they call UNICEF too eh? What have they ever achieved, apart from to help nearly halve the number of child deaths in the world? Clearly pointless. All that stuff helping stop the spread of AIDs and providing peacekeepers to warzones and overseeing elections in places where democracy cannot be guaranteed, and aiding refugees and all that piffle.. Pah, lets just wrap the whole thing up now..

I don't understand what all that has to do with you being terrible at evaluating the moral significance of events.

You're being really, really generous to the UN here if you think it's responsible for all that. Most of what the world food program and UNICEF do is prop up 3rd world dictators anyway. Their peacekeepers aren't allowed to keep the peace. The effort to stop the spread of AIDS has been completely ineffective.

None of those programs are harmed by saying one particular ****heel can't come into the US either.

Nobody is under any illusions that America doesn't do lots of other bad things too, some considerably worse, however this is one of those things that simply undermines what the US is supposed to stand for. Worse it's completely pointless and achieves nothing other than to make America look bad. At least with the drone strikes and the data spying you can see how people could imagine it would aid American security.

Now is one of those times where we need the UN more than ever. Interfering with it's proper function is just idiotic.

Please just stop. It's like watching a dog jump somersaults and start chasing its tail whenever someone blows the UN whistle.

Not really. It's not going to change the world in any way, but it's still despicable and stupid.

It's a good thing we have you here to judge on which world events are relevant and are worth discussing. Maybe after this you could get a job deciding which countries diplomats are allowed to represent them at the UN.

I wouldn't even consider this an "event".

                        Your whole argument is laughable.

That's ok, the other 195 countries in the world will consider it an event, but as long as you guys don't, that's what matters.

Don't worry though, it'll quickly be forgotten as everyone get's distracted by the NSA choosing to exploit Heartbleed while leaving computer systems around the world vulnerable.

Yeah. News coverage of mass surveillance needs to take a backseat to this.

Indeed. His whining is boring. We denied a visa to someone involved in the taking of American hostages. BFD.
