What does Justice Blackman's ****tiest legal opinion described by a former clerk as an example of constitutional interpretation and judicial method that borders on the indefensible have to do with this thread?

And I'm not sure why abortion is here either... except some Catholics think it means something here.

Go back to protected classes discussion in this thread.
**** protected classes. I don't believe they should exist. Everyone should be equal before the law. Is that clear enough for you?

        • Like I pointed out before, you are entitled to your opinion but the vast majority don't agree, so suck it.

Because it shows that you're not actually concerned with protecting the weak. Your only interest is in keeping up with leftist trends. And I know this because your positions lack any moral consistency.

It's pretty tragic that "Everyone should be equal before the law" is a minority opinion. You all are a disgrace.

Feel free to move! I'll help you pack (not really though).

If it gets to hot in the kitchen, I'll move.

Until then... can a lawyer refuse to take on a client?

Yes, as long as it's on an individual basis and not globally for reasons of race, or sex.

                        • So all a lawyer has to do is say "No thank you" individually to every black person who walks in, and he's in the clear?

It's funny to me because legal representation is a Constitutional right, while wedding cakes aren't.

I guess Imran's holier than thou horse**** only applies to people who aren't him.

                          • I mean, it's not like an officer of the court has put himself in the public sphere or anything.

You have a very, very short memory. Until Defense of Marriage Act came under serious challenge through courts, and until U.S. Supreme Court overturned a part of it, gay people were (and still are) very much made to be second class citizens by either the state governments or the federal government.

Until recently, when Don't Ask Don't Tell was blotted out, the federal government made gay people second class citizens when serving in the military.

In something like half or more than half of the states in America, state governments sanction making gay people second class citizens, because in those states I'm referring to, it is perfectly legal to fire someone for being gay. This probably applies to housing in those states, as well.

To trivialize this modern day civil rights struggle as about "forcing someone to bake you a cake," is a fine example of ignorance.

Not to mention that the Republican representatives in Arizona never even had to bother trying to pass that hate bill, because that wedding case incident/case was in New Mexico, where gay people ARE legally protected as citizens in that state.

                              • Yes he's in the clear as long as it can't be proved that every black person was turned away.
At least he wouldn't be paying to defend himself.

And in all honesty if the baker turned down a gay request claiming the guy was a douche and show that he had previously baked cakes for other gays, he would be in the clear also.
