Just got the game today, so far I like it. It does have very limited number of buildings, I hope they add more buildings later on

My first game didn't go so well. While I did have plenty of food, I had problems with getting stone. Without stone I couldn't get new buildings. My people started dying of old age and it seemed like all the people was monks living in celibacy as there was no children getting born. Within no time I was down to 16 people, before I started a new game.

I haven't been able to figure out how to get animals. The trader only trades seeds and other stuff, but no animals and the only animal I can find on the maps I have played so far was deer and fish. How do I get cows or chickens?
This space is empty... or is it?

If you start in easy, you can a free animal type. Cows are the best, imo, because leather trades well.

When you do get an animal trader, be aware that animal are very expensive.

I remember one of my earlier games where I was suffering from stone and iron shortages. Now I usually tell one trader always to bring those commodities.

Sheep are better than cows, because cattle only produce leather when they are slaughtered; sheep produce wool constantly.

I see. I slaughter cows like crazy, so I didn't notice.

I'm sick of this game now. It's still good. But there's not much more for me to do in it. I got a solid 30 hours of gameplay out of it before getting bored. That's pretty good.

Does AoE2 have no late game? I've owned that for longer and played it for only 24 hours.

                        AssCreed IV? 27 hours.

                        Borderlands? 19 hours.

30 hours is very good... especially for a $20 game. 66 cents an hour! That's cheaper than your mom.

All those games have multiplayer which practically gives a game unlimited hours of playability. Every single person you play with or against online is a new dynamic experience.

****. The South Park game has 10 hours of gameplay according to a review I read (forget which). That's a $60 game. And it's getting high praise.

I've not played a single minute of multiplayer in any of those games.

And no, playing against humans isn't a "new dynamic experience". It's the same game.

But hey, you are using my personal play time as proof that there is "no late game". So please, continue.

"unlimited playability"? Not with modern games. Multiplayer gets shut down when newer sequels come out.

Multiplayer is a very limited experience that pubs/devs are in complete control of.

                                Dude, you literally just said:

I'm sick of this game now.
But there's not much more for me to do in it.
When I said weeks ago that the game has limited scope and no late-game. You proved me correct.

Don't hold an open game like this to the standards of narrative games. Narrative games have to have an endpoint; no one's writing a story and dialogue for 100+ hour experiences and if they did, the story would probably suck.
