You probably put it there during the previous server move because your DNS server was still pointing to the old IP address.

The most likely thing is that at some point your company blocked poly and you wanted to bypass their firewalls or something. Bad Rah.

Also, as much as you all like the 'dns server' stuff, seriously, you think someone who doesn't know how to deal with DNS themselves is going to monkey with a dns server? On a work pc nonetheless (that they probably don't have admin rights on)? I don't even know if *I* could make my work PCs use a different DNS server, and I know what the **** I'm doing. (Well, I could, but let's say, I don't know if I could without misbehaving and/or borrowing sysadmin rights for a day. Shhh.) Hosts file was the only logical answer.

Here's an idea. what if there were extra forums of Poly that didn't display, but could be reached via url? One could post porn pics and drive up one's post count on the sly.
