The DNS on one of your machines, hasn't updated to point at the new server yet so you created it on the forum on the old server.

Maybe the old one point to a nameserver that isn't being updated.

      Edit: Mike was faster

        Yeah, probably. Try Running

        ipconfig /flushdns

OR just enjoy your own private forum.

This gives me an idea - couldn't we make a fix so Ben would be redirected to that ole server ?

There should still be an administrative category called "ban me idiots," created by Martin Guhmann (sp?) for Newgod about two years ago. I can't imagine anybody had the energy to actually delete it . . . anyway, stuff BK in there if you don't want to ban him.

On an unrelated note, why must ellipses involve spaces? I'm used to doing it like this...and now I'm self-conscious about doing it wrong, and it's a big hassle. Can we petition Strunk and White?

My guess is that's because it only flushes the PC's cache, not the DNS server (I'm pretty sure that's impossible). Try checking wich DNS servers the two PC's are using.

When ellipses are used to indicate that the original author is losing their train or to indicate a pause, spaces are rarely used...

They should be using the same one. Is there a way to check easily?

I have people to do such kind of stuff on windows, so I really don't now

                      Maybe this helps : http://www.opennicproject.org/config...-in-windows-7/

Have you checked the hosts file? Remove any references to poly from there.

I said that because I have a dual port outlet and would be flabbergasted if they went to different dns servers.

I read that as "I have two sockets in the wall that goes to the same place", but that hasn't anything to do with wich dns servers your pc's are configured to use.

Ah. my mistake, I thought that was network controlled.
How do I check/change which dns server each is using.
