So what's next Aeson? You're doing a good job here.

      Thanks

Next is for me to get over this flu (the type that will make Guy extremely angry). I need to get the downloads/links fixed and some other technical jobs behind the scenes squared away. Then I want to start reorganizing the Civ 5 content a bit and get the navigation squared away. Lots of little jobs there that can help turn some of the 4k new visitors a day this site gets into returning traffic. For instance, we have several posts on the first page for "Civ 5 Strategy" that get a lot of traffic. One of them is this page:

That would depend on the topic you're going on, I suppose!

One of the primary reasons this site lost it's lead.
It was hard to find the good stuff that was on the site, and was difficult to download.

In the "old days" when people asked in threads how to get/download this or that, the standard response from many people was to provide a link to CFC

So it was MarkG that killed the site?

Why not? It was your posts that got me posting.

                  ...

...not sure if encouraging or not...
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Really? Oddly enough, as Ming knows, I was posting on topic for years before I found the OT, when we were doing suggestions for Civ 3 and civ 2 MP. Lancer told me about it.

Maybe that's why Ming never sent me to Mingapulco back in the day, keep on civin, lol, the civ 2 MP mafia. Unfortunately my comps won't run civ 2 anymore, I can't work out Dos box, otherwise I'd still be playing.

We put together massive lists of suggestions for civ 3 which Firaxas mostly ignored. That was a blow to the franchise, when they took over. They never had much feel for the gameplay, and the virtue of simplicity. Sid Meier was a genius.

Be assured, being involved in Civ II MP had absolutely nothing to do with you avoiding Mingapulco. Pretty much all I did was League. He drug me here and then banished me.

                        1) Sid Meier is part of Firaxis.
                        2) The List for Civ3 came too late for Civ3, but look at how much inspiration from it came into Civ4.

I would like to think that all of our efforts did finally pay off in Civ IV. But if you remember, Civ IV Vanilla kind of sucked too. It wasn't really until Warlords that the game got good, and BTS is still the best.

Hopefully Civ VI will be better than V

Civ4 is the be all and end all of civ.

Yes civ VI = they just need one hit to re-energise the franchise.

At least he was nicer (or maybe just slower) than MtG.
