You mean Charles K. Kao, the pre-Chinese rule Hong Konger and US Citizen?

By ethnicity sure, but none are really considered Chinese in nationality and the Chinese education system certainly has none.

        Edit - I think I lie...

If you're not going to be the sole world superpower you need to start talking to other countries as peers rather than inferiors.
The US has only been the sole superpower for ~20 years. In time we may no longer be uncontested for global influence, but it's going to be a long ****ing time before we're contested for wealth.

You mean apart from being $17 trillion in debt with 46m living in poverty and 1 in 7 Americans being food insecure last year? Yeah, I'm sure the Scandinavians are just going green with envy.

This does raise an interesting question. Given the results of Obamanomics ken just laid out, why should we treat its supporters with anything less than derision?

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

When you owe the bank $100,000 it is your problem. When you owe the bank $17,000,000,000,000 it's the bank's problem.
“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

I don't think of China as a peasant country. I think of it as a kleptocratic ****hole full of cancer villages where you have to bribe an official to get just about anything done and a significant percentage of "GDP growth" comes from largely unnecessary government-funded projects moving piles of money around to get some bozo a promotion (and graft opportunities). Also, it's basically unheard of for even the crappiest of their schools to fail inspection. This is not to say they aren't a rising power, but the sheer amount of endemic rot you hear about makes it harder to be really terrified of them.

                          Terrorist states aren't peers.

Obamacare! He's a radical liberal. Bill Clinton and Carter were left of center moderates. The difference is Obama is totally incompetent. Politics is the only place he can succeed except maybe run some scams on old people.

Even if Obamacare turns out badly, I don't think it will destroy the planet. I don't see the US health care system as critical to its continued existence.
