The animal sex thing is pretty well documented in the Arab world. There were loads of videos out of Iraq where the snipers would be on location for days and were bored so they used their NVG scope to record natives have sex with all manner of barnyard animals. I'm sure it didn't only happen in the middle east but the sexual repression seems to make for strange outlets for young Arab men and by multiple accounts I've heard this is common all over the region. The same thing with gay sex even by guys who claim they're not really gay but they find women unobtainable (kind of like how you spent the first 27 or so years of your life) so they resort to other stuff. Seriously, in Iraq you'd see a guy with a pick up truck and his whole family (including his wife) would be in the back with 3-5 goats/sheep while his favorite goat would get to ride up front with him.
