It's to be expected that you don't understand an issue you previously implied you were ignorant of. I simply explained how HC is being hypocritical.

I have no idea what "the work ethic argument" is referring to...? Who's claiming Americans simply have a stronger work ethic? That's a strawman. I also don't know where you got the idea that people engaged in resource extraction are somehow being insulted.
Work ethic is an integral factor in American exceptionalism, and an obvious contributer (at least in some cases) to the GNP discrepancies between the US and other nations. Both issues are at the heart of the debate here. Pretending that this discussion doesn't have anything to do with work ethic is just as absurd as pretending that quality of land plays no role in American wealth and affluence.

In your mind maybe, but not according to the actual definition of "hypocritical".

There are no self-professed advocates of "American exceptionalism" in this thread. Where has HC ever claimed that America has a higher GDP per capita (GNP was never the topic) because Americans are supposedly naturally more hard working?

      • I believe in American exceptionalism in this sense only: America's domestic and economic policy encourages and rewards hard work, innovation and entrepreneurialism to a much greater extent than any other country.

You already admitted your ignorance of the meaning of what I said. As such you obviously are not qualified to judge whether it applies to the definition of hypocritical or not.

I on the other hand comprehend the meaning of what I said perfectly, have never claimed otherwise, and can assure you HC is being hypocritical in the manner I explained. This holds true even by a very narrow definition of the term.

I do appreciate your efforts to be pedantic and make this a symantic debate so you can hide from the actual topic though.

HC denies the input of the quality of land as an important factor, thus necessarily inflating the value of everything else. It's not just a necessary implication, but rather obviously the intention to try to inflate the value of other factors.

Here we have HC's confirmation. The factors he wants to attribute GNP discrepancies to are such things as hard work, innovation, and entrepreneurialism. (The reasons for them are not important in regards to whether they are or not.)

            • No, idiot, the things that I want to attribute to GDP discrepancy is PUBLIC POLICY which directly affects such things, which directly affect GDP. The only thing exceptional about america is its relatively liberal economic policy.

                a) Sharing is for communists. That you'd want me to lower the compensation to impoverished workers' just to give you (an extremely wealthy person in comparison) some freebies is the worst form of moochery.

                b) If we were all on the same wavelength there would be exactly 0 point to this thread. It wouldn't lead to any increased productivity elsewhere since we'd just find another thread where we weren't on the same wavelength to have the same unproductive arguments.

It's good you can admit the reasons for your bias. However, it's not important what your root motivation is. (Most likely it's to compensate for some perceived shortcoming in yourself, but we're not here to play psychologist.) Everything along the chain is something you freely admit you were intentionally inflating the importance of.

Imagine if someone on the Black Sox was claiming their intent was not to throw the game, but rather to make money from throwing the game. It's a meaningless distinction to make in regards of whether or not you meant to throw the game.

                  • You're retarded and delusional. I'm not going to bother to explain why your little conspiracy theory about my beliefs is an absurd farce, I think it does a good enough job of that on its own.

You're not going to even try because you know you're incapable of doing so.

Have you ever even worked a real job in your life?

I mean, something your dad didn't set up for you?

                          • Aeson, your insinuations go beyond insulting and into absurd. You've done this before, such as the time you claimed I was anti-immigration despite my consistent and insistent statements to the contrary for my entire tenure on this forum. You're a dishonest *****, and you build up the most absurd strawmen about posters. You're idiot, an *******, and I have no time for you. You're going back on ignore for good.
