I suppose, you expect the minority to just give up the desires of their constituents and play dead? Oh please...
Please think about what you just said. So if any law is passed ever, a minority have the moral right to shutdown the country because the majority refuse to scrap it? Seriously?

      • Taken as a whole the list is extremely unreasonable especially since Republicans continue to add to their list of ransom demands daily. If they were serious about solving the artificial crisis they created then Republicans would be reducing the number of their demands instead of constantly increasing them.

No, conferences should be rejected out of hand. "I've decided you must give me your house free of charge. No? OK, let's go to conference where at least I can get half of your house." Nope, they have zero leverage other than throwing a tantrum and shutting down the government so why give them more? They've already gotten PLENTY out of the budget negotiations and Democrats agreed to 8% cuts to the original senate budget deal and no sooner was the budget deal agreed to then Republicans came up with a massive list of new demands. Screw them, they're obviously trying to sabotage the process so let them do it, let the public know Republicans have done this, and then let the chips fall where they may. My guess is most people will figure out the disingenuous game Republicans have been playing and they'll be punished for it. Give them all the rope they want so they can hang themselves.

It's the same thing now as there is no time so they're both going to get rolled into one deal. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it.

                • Here's another fact. If a vote was allowed on a clean CR in the house it would pass right now, today. There are more than enough votes from both Democrats and Republicans who said they would vote for it but Boehner won't allow the vote.

                    • Funny isn't it how the Republicans have no interest in talks or compromise in the normal run of things, but suddenly when the countries on the brink they suddenly want to negotiate. Why do you think that might be?

They also want to repeal net neutrality allowing ISPs to control which websites users can and cannot go to. NY Magazine covered this fairly well:

I don't remember many of those, they must have dropped them quickly while NEGOTIATING on a COMPROMISE.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

                        • They still haven't dropped those and instead they're still adding to the list.

                          • The Republicans had their chance to deal with Obamacare when it was being proposed. Now it's law. Stop crying like a bunch of babies. You lost. Deal with it. They even went to the Supreme Court with Obamacare and lost.

They've actually had three chances and they've struck out each time. Their first chance was to stop it from passing but it passed by good margins in both houses and signed by the President. Strike #1. They then challenged the law in court claiming it was unconstitutional but the SCotUS called them ***** and laughed them out of court. Strike #2. Then they ran the 2012 election on a platform of repealing the ACA and taking health insurance away from millions of people but, happily, voters rejected them. Strike #3.

They just keep losing and they're mad about it so they're throwing a tempertantrum because they can't have their way and pretend like the last five years hasn't happened. Tough. Damn sore losers.
