There were people at the fed who had been working there for 40 years, and nobody could ever remember them doing a single goddamn thing. People in the IT department I was in who could barely boot up their own computers. It was a ****ing disgrace.

Who am I kidding, Regexcellent's personal experience inside the federal government viewing people who should have been fired is invalidated by your need to paint those experiences as something that never happened or otherwise unworthy of consideration. Who am I to disagree with that especially with Lori agreeing that it is indeed hard to actually fire a Federal employee?

My manager actually complained to me about how he couldn't fire this particularly worthless woman who basically never did anything but show up on time.

This story is not unique or notable either, it's a pretty common problem.
