The people in charge of the corporation, the people responsible for key decisions and policies, they do benefit from profits. They are therefore motivated to get what they want from the lower employees, in terms of a higher quality of product or service. If those employees don't follow the instructions from the top, then the company can replace them with more pliant workers. As long as they pay enough, they'll be able to attract qualified replacements willing to do as they're told.

It's all common sense, if you're not determined from the beginning to assume that the free market is evil.
    John Brown did nothing wrong.

The reason you have ****ty public schools is because you're too damn stupid to actually fix the ****ty schools and instead just spout this meaningless crap about how the entire system should be private (yet taxpayer funded anyway).
How is this argument different to:

Other than to fill in the blank to fit your politics.

        And you believe this?

Have you even worked for a corporation in your life?

        • FWIW, I'd prefer grant-maintained/voluntary aided models to privatization.

          • You don't expect high quality from minimum wage employees. That's why they're minimum wage.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

            • A lot of places don't have high quality in management either. I could cite a certain example.

Yeah I have. We don't all have rich parents and trust funds.

                  That's true.

Also true. Half of all people have below average intelligence. A lot of them wind up in charge for dumb reasons.

                    Hmmm. Neither do I.

Well, I have all sorts of funds set up now. None of which came from my parents.

                    But thanks for playing!

But because of capitalism, we should.

You can't have it both ways.

Yes to both. I made scrambled eggs with cream and trompettes de la mort mushrooms for my other half one Valentine's Day for breakfast. Omelettes definitely only with a little water, no milk.
