Sometimes someone dying is the correct outcome--for instance, if an old person dies a little sooner instead of dramatically improving the quality of life of a young, poor diabetic kid.
If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

Yet there's a much higher chance that the old person is wealthy than the young, poor diabetic kid. Please, do not give examples that hurt your point.

Wrong. Well, he is probably wealthier. But if it weren't for Medicare subsidies there is almost no chance the old person would be getting these treatments.

Wrong. I just want to stop giving unlimited subsidies to old people. No panels involved.

Yeah, I've always heard the Swedes complaining about their quality of life due to high taxes. It's their #1 complaint.

It was both. Were you not watching the same show as the rest of us?

Hank's ridiculous medical expenses were also covered by Walt's drug money, further complicating the story.

As for his insurance covering his treatment, which insurance companies pay for special, intensive treatment for a cancer that is short-term terminal?

You mean those old people who spent their entire lives paying their hard earned taxes into the system with the promise that the system would guarantee them help in their old age? I assume you'd also refuse to honour any other kind of business transaction and instead prefer to just steal peoples investments right?

I'm only a few episodes in.

I just walked down the hall to ask one of the health insurance actuaries at my firm and the answer was "most of them", particularly in the context of an insurance plan for public employees.

Careful, Kuci. Their credibility from decades of experience managing public-sector health plans can't possibly compare to Asher's common sense folk economics.

It's a ponzi scheme. Better if it collapses sooner.

They should be. It's why their economy is so much less productive than ours.

Y'all are forgetting that Walter White was trying to use an experimental procedure because his lung cancer was so advanced. That isn't usually covered by any healthcare provider.

It's only ~$40k at PPP, which is about 20% less than the US.

If we're to consider SS to be an investment rather than a welfare program, it's one of the ****tiest investment plans I've ever seen.
