What the heck is a deep midwicket? Is that like deep in the outfield in baseball?

    contented exhibition? finding substantial turn?

I've never heard a player called a debutant. Transformational stand? What is an "over"? What the hell is a wicket anyways?

7.3 overs up to tea? Is that good or bad? feather on a leg side flick? Good or bad, I can't tell. An Ibw? Inside edge of what?
It's like an Austin Powers movie.

Cricket- something I did my very best not to join in with during compulsory sports at school. You could usually find me ostentatiously ignoring the tedium with the assistance of a good book under a bush when I was meant to be fielding, which I readily requeste dto do as far away from the mind-numbing inaction as possible.

They refused to believe I had no interest in cricket when I lived in Australia, assuming it was because I was afraid that England might lose in whatever contest was underway at the time. I knew they were mad about it there when I met an Australian who was born and grew up partly in Italy and who was a fanatic about the game. Gah.

If you Ussians think cricket is weird, take a look at this English game. I'll bet even Bugs doesn't understand it...

"Batsmen" sounds like a word you'd find on the packaging for a knock-off superhero toy in a third-world market. As in "Batsmen and Robon Exciting Laser."

australia are 252 for 9, they need another 59 runs to win, england need one more wicket. england should win, but it's going to be a tight finish.

That match just makes me feel sorry for people who don't get cricket. 5 days of wild shifts for one team to the other, with records tumbling and a nail-biting close finish. Test cricket, man.

Note to England- never try facing this Aussie team with just four bowlers again. My heart won't take it.

It's only saving grace in my opinion, is that it isn't golf.

                              Golf isn't a sport, really. It's a hobby.

I've had people argue with me about how strenuous it is to walk 7-8 miles, but I wasn't convinced.

I do that looking for books or records. It's called the weekend, and I don't have to wear loud or checked trousers. Nor would I....
