            • Is that one of those blood sugar readers which diabetics use? Fitting as who ever drinks that regularly will probably become diabetic.

                • Sweet tea is meant to be overly sweet, Oerdin. I don't see you bat an eye at fatty meats (ie, duck) at super fancy restaurants. Stop being such a food snob.

                  • Yeah, but it's not meant to be syrup.

                    • As a teen I loved to drink ice tea, the regular type without sugar, and while visiting my aunt in Atlanta I ordered an ice tea but instead they brought sweet tea. It was the first time I'd ever tasted it and I literally gagged because I was unused to things being that sweet (I didn't even eat much candy as a kid). Luckily the waitress was nice and replaced it with unsweetened ice tea like I originally ordered.

What do you mean "instead"? Tea is iced sweet tea down in these parts.

As for hunger, Joyce was hardly the first student to have to miss a few meals in Paris (where he briefly studied medicine when he was twenty-one). Bowker reports his reduction to such basic fare as “hard-boiled eggs, cold ham, bread and butter, macaroni, figs and cocoa” -- not exactly starvation rations.

I defy someone to consume as many fatty meats per day as sweet tea.

                            • Sweet tea is fine if you're not consuming more calories total than you can use in a day. It probably isn't great for your teeth but what is?

I like sweet mint tea, but that's about it. And it has to be made with real mint.
