In an interesting move Nintendo opted out of E3 and instead aired a hostage video of an executive. He didn't hold a newspaper up though, so it's impossible to verify the date.

Sony has confirmed that the digital rights management of PlayStation 4 software will be up to third-party publishers. Speaking on GTTV, Sony's Jack Tretton stated, "The DRM decision for third-party games will be up to publishers."

No way to enforce a lot of DRM that limits reselling (which isn't legal in a fair few countries as well). Should be entertaining to watch what the publishers do.

Because it's going to be awesome, that's why. Oh boo hoo, we can't go and trade in games like gypsy tinkers any more! Oh boo hoo, Microsoft aren't going to waste energy supporting indie developers no-one gives a **** about! Both Xbox and PS4 are going to kick ass, and which one people buy will largely just come down to the exclusives they manage to announce and how long it takes Microsoft to drop that price down $50 or so.

So retailers can make a huge chunk of cash off the consumer for buying for peanuts and selling for twice the price. Meanwhile the developers make far less because people are buying games second hand, and a ton of studios collapse.

Yeah, Ryse looks pretty but the quicktime event crap will probably ruin it. I'm most excited about a non-exclusive, the absolutely mindblowing new Ubisoft title The Division.

You own only what you agree to own on a per-sale basis, and I just want to be clear about this, while I have gained 5 lbs this month because my dog Washington apparently killed my neighbor's infant and the threat of a lawsuit is kind of stressing me out, I am not ugly by any stretch of the imagination.
