I remember the days that the Marlboro man road across my TV screen 6 times an hour. He was only interrupted by those that would rather fight than switch.

Those that didn't have smokes had to continue runnning, do pushups etc while the others had their smoke break. Wasn't long before the entire squad was confirmed hard core smokers.

(He later quit cigarettes in the late 70's but by then had taken up the pipe instead. He finally quit althogether right around 1990.)
But this is true of a lot of work. I knew places where the only people who could take breaks were smokers.

Not fair, do we tell you not to molest sheep? I don't hold that against you nor does it affect our friendship.

Something I just noticed with Ogie's post: nobody calls them "sarge." Ever. It's "sarnt."

I got friends who dip, and my understanding is that it's a much more cost effective way of feeding their addiction.

This dipping you talk about, is that where you have moist tobacco in your upper lip? JM makes me think so from his replies, but you don't go around spitting all the time when you use "snus"(which it is called in Scandinavia). I think that's what you do with tobacco you chew?
