Who did the Americans fight before December 1941?
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

Nope, just that letting random people decide what is and isn't going to be useful is probably going to lead to a pretty ****ty system.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Simple, to fight global warming/climate change sooner or later there will have to be a carbon tax to reduce the consumption of hydrocarbons. They make their money selling hydrocarbons (they own their father's oil company which is the largest privately held company in the country) so they're against anything which would decrease their profits. It's naked self interest mixed in with an extremist political ideology and a dash of megalomania.

That was back in like 2005 or something. Do keep up.

Yes, indeed. They just have a "I want mine and **** everyone else" philosophy along with a desire to enforce their own political ideology on to everyone else. That, mixed with megalomania, is indeed the motivation for most of the billionaire donors who are always involved in politics. They want to control the levers of power via their money. It's rather natural for a filthy rich trust fund baby who has an outsized opinion of their own self importance, really.

Face it, the reason they want to remove the peer review requirement for government science funding and outlaw the fact checking of other's claims is because they're upset that their bull****, anti-science, global climate change denial nonsense keeps getting fact checked by scientists and found to be nonsense. They would love for the last real reality check, the one performed by scientists, to just go away so they can continue with their fact free political bull**** propaganda.

A tiny, tiny, tiny amount and, like just about everything they do, it is motivated by self interest and a desire to influence programming. They tried real hard to push NPR and PBS away from objective journalism, even getting Congressmen to write legislation trying to force them to broadcast fact free political propaganda (which luckily failed), but their personal self interests trump just about everything else. Their "charitable giving" is just a way for them to push their agenda which is "I got mine, **** everyone else".

The point I was making is that the US can hardly be said to have been out of the war given that it was providing millions of dollars in weapons, armament as well as money itself to the Allied forces prior to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
