      I promise you my congressman pays no attention to the teacher's unions, since we basically don't have them in virginia. And the only reason they pay attention to these people ever is because they have lots of votes. The NRA has what, 5 million members? More? That's huge. And even more who aren't dues-paying but pay attention to the NRA scoring. They listen to the NRA not because the NRA gives them money, but because the NRA is a ****ing huge group of voters.

      Of course my congressmen isn't going to listen to me individually. He has hundreds of thousands of constituents. That's the way it should be.

      Gerry Connolly voted for the healthcare bill. He didn't listen to his constituents. He came within a couple hundred votes of losing his seat, and only won because the guy he was running against was an idiot. He changed quite a bit after that election. I think it was a wake up call.

                        Maybe he believes that the UK can take credit for Australia's contributions? Honestly, it was mostly the Kuomintang in China who fought the Japanese prior to December 1941.
